This diagram is from 1943 and updated in part up to 1950 after nationalisation

This was the system diagram used by the Liverpool Corporation Electricity Supply Department prior to nationalisation in 1948.
It was subsequently redrawn using the symbol convention introduced by P d'E Stowell, Chief Engineer, Manweb.
The most significant difference on the diagram was the replacement of linear busbars by circles!
